Hey all just bought my first series 2a Landy and would be greatfull for any pearls of wisdom from more experienced droverists. My first stumbling block is how come I can't get a rear cross member with extensions for an LWB?

A bit gob smacked you cannot source a replacement rear cross member, there are plenty of aftermarket suppliers. I take it that " with extensions" you mean one that is almost a half chassis to replace the spring hangers? If so, you should be able to get one, try a google search. Looks like a solid vehicle, FWH as well. If anything she looks a bit saggy at the back - tired springs and shockers? My first landy was a S2A LWB back in the 1970's, it was a structural wreck, paid £400 for it and sold it 12 months later for the same money and bought a 75 S3 SWB. try to get hold of a full workshop manual if you do not have one. Whats the main bulkhead like? I see its a late model S2 with the lights on the wings. Good luck with it, enjoy that central consol and gearstick, is it double de-clutch?

Hey John thanks for the reply. Yeah sorry it was the 1/4 chassis I was looking for because it's pretty shot around the spring hangers, I could only find one for the SWB. The bulk head isn't too bad actually apart from along the top under the bonnet hinges. The rear springs are stuck solid not sure about the shocks. I'm not sure what double de-clutch is but it has a fairy overdrive. She runs like a beauty after sitting idle for about a year.
