Im confused.
EDC from what I can tell should have plugs on the EGR and top of the fuel pump, and an ECU under the centre seat.

My fender, a 96 has these plugs on the pump and EGR, but no ECU.
do these plugs do something else, or are the just plugged in cos the loom is the same?

looked around to see if theres another way to tell, but as yet turned up nothing.

loom looks ok, nothing looks chopped/missing in the bit of loom under the middle sat (under the inspection panel)

As far as I know the egr is desperate from edc. My 300tdi had an egr and associated crap but is definitely not edc.

I think if you've got edc you'll have wiring going to one of the injectors.

cheers, kinda what I thought. no wiring to injectors, just the one on the pump & EGR.
EGR will be going, its still connected & working ATM, its a roundtuit job for when the weathers a bit nicer,
Cant get enough spanner time as it is to fix what needs fixing, let alone what aint broke!!

Yep getting a lot of white smoke at idle. which I suspect is been caused by the egr still been active. so next job on the list is a blanking kit.
White smoke is unburnt fuel,so nowt to do with EGR.More likely a dribbling injector...
