Hi All,
I posted a couple weeks ago questioning how to fit electric seats to a DT with a low line BeCM. Well after some experimenting and seeing just how complicated an electric seat is I decided to strip and rebuild the seats on the manual bases. So after 3or4 hours per seat I am pleased to have lightstone leather seats with good foam on my seats now and no more sitting on the metal! The only luxury was keeping the electric lumper support in the drivers seat which I am sure will get connected up sometime.
Anyhow the reason for posting was to let people know I gave up with those nasty little bits of metal that fix the material to the foam and used cable ties instead and seems to be OK. Clearly thought needs to be given to how the end will lie but oh so much easier to fit.
Lastly I have a set of door cards and thought I might as well fit these but can any one give any hints or tips on the best way to get the old cards off and break the least fixings. I have been on ebay and found these listed:
Classic Car Upholstery Clip Door Card Removal Removing Tool CT2834 0162 | eBay
Professional 5 Piece Car Trim Remover Set - PDR, Facias, Door Cards etc | eBay
SILVERLINE NEW 4Pc CAR DOOR TRIM REMOVER SET PANEL CARD INTERIOR EXTERIOR 480063 | eBay
Not willing to spend much more than a tenner other wise it is out with the big screwdriver.....
Thanks in advance.
