I've read through prior FBH posts but couldn't find the answer to my situation. I have the Thermo Top V heater fitted but I do not have the timed operation option and I understand that it can be configured via IID (although some write-ups state that you need to have the Satnav option, which mine doesn't (even though it has a NAV button on the dash)). Whilst my FBH runs, it only runs simultaneously with the engine (which kind of defeats the object). I see that there are options to use a W-bus controller (with 433MHz remote) and forgo the canbus connections but the suppliers of the controllers state that >2010 models have a heater ECU password that needs to be removed. Would that be the case if the canbus twisted-pair wires are cut/disabled. Has anyone else solved this problem with a >2010 MY D4?
