Hi
I have just had an injector reconditioned and all was well initially but a quick drive down the road resulted in the engine light coming on and a drop in power. I stopped switched off and on again - the light went off and immediately came back on. I got home and did a leak back test on it - see photo. The recon injector has failed - the guy is sorting it for me but a bit of a hassle getting it out for him again!

The question I have is would an injector a faulty as this cause the engine light to act the way it did? The reconditioner said the high pressure seal has gone although he had changed it (he is going to replace the body as well now)

I am having a bit of a time with it - I have spent too much time and some money ( not too much thankfully as I do most of my own stuff) trying to get to the bottom of what I now know was more than one injector down.

I replaced one a little while back with a second hand one and it seemed a bit better then made the Leakback kit and found number two out so sent it for repair - I it replaced temporarily with one I thought was ok which turned out to be not so.

Alongside all of this I damaged a seat on number one - I have since cut a new seat and it seems fine.

So far none of these have done anything more than give me a slight miss at mid range and a shimmy on acceleration - however now I have put in the recon Injector my engine light comes on and it goes to limp mode!

So the plan today is take this one out and return it then take out number one and pop it into number two and put my less faulty one in number one for now to see if I can at least get mobile. Changing number one is easy and doesn't require a strip down - so when the recon comes back its an easier swop out - sounds like a plan.
