Recently restored my defender 90 300tdi. I have a few faults. Fuel gauge isn’t working at all. It’s all plugged in correctly from what I can see. Hand brake light is on all the time and the brakes take a lot of effort to even do anything. Also replace all flexi hoses for braided lines. Any idea would be apriciated ?

You haven't got the brake connector and fuel sender connector mixed up? they're not far apart. ;)
Have you checked to see how hard the servo sucks on your finger?

Pretty sure they are connected up right. A black and a green wire to the fuel sender and a small red wire to hand brake switch?

It's worth checking easy mistakes first. :)
Do you have a digital multimeter?
How long did it take to do the rebuild? ie how long have the parts been out of action?

8 Weeks, Well Done Mate.
Think I've been on nearly 2 years now, hoping to get it done by next summer, well that's the plan anyway. Only way I could have done it in that time is working on it Everyday , All Day none stop for the whole 8 weeks .
I get by with a couple of hours a night and usually all day Sunday .
Hope you get problems sorted.

The “handbrake” light is also for the low brake fluid level. Unscrew the brake reservoir cap and turn it upside down. See if the light goes out then. If it doesn’t, short the two wires out with a 1A fuse. See if the light goes out then.
