fault on rear windscreen wiper

Hi, can any one help me ? I have a t plate freelander 1.8 petrol, it has loads of problems which i am working my way through but I am stuck on this one, The rear windscreen wiper will not work . I have read rave and it explains that it will not work with out the window being fully closed (which it is) . I have tried reprogramming the window which it does not do anything it says it should. I have found the relays on the suspension turret and traced most of the wiring. is there any way to bypass the relay to make it think the window is in the right position ? If not it appears to be all controlled via the ccu which sounds expensive ! Thanks in advance, Cheers.
