hmmm, ok, well if i was you id just fix whats broken? other than that, i know a guy whos fitted two fans out of a saab or focus or something, just picked em at a scrappy, wouldnt waste the money on a kenlowe I would say they are good, but I would also say they are a bit of a waste of money. the thermostat goes in the radiator i think?? (im sure ill be corrected though) :D

Just fit them with a manual switch and turn them on when or if needed.
I used the air con fan when I removed the air con from my Defender. Its wired with a switch and I've not needed it yet. Temp gauge stays just below centre whatever the weather. Even when towing.
:nospamhere:
I also have a used TD5 viscous fan for sale so if you're interested PM me.

Mondeo fits like a glove, £10 from a scrapper. I have a on off switch in the cab if it ever gets high.

cheers dude that helps. i think the forum needs an auto answer function. ever new thread is immediately answered with 'do a search!' or maybe a better FAQ archive?!

I'm sure I've seen a company that makes thermostat switches designed for landys (e.g. when it gets too hot the switch automatically turns on the leccy fan. (Maybe x-eng or mud stuff??) You could also fit a 3-stage switch so you can turn it off, leave it on the temp sensor or have it permanantly on.

sorry to revive this thread. my mate dropped round today and said 'you need a fan mate' so i now have an electric fan! whoop whoop. i want it to be controlled off a flick switch in the cab as its mainly for off roading when engine gets hot. what fuse rating should i use and where would you recommend i take the feed from? or should i take it all the way back to the fuse box?

Best to have it come on Thermostatically anorl. Measure how many amps the fan pulls and go to next size up fuse. Shud be 10 or 15A. Feed from fuse box is good, but make sure it is rated higher than the inline fuse.
