falty fuel guage

hi.can anyone help.i have just bought a 1990 RR 3.9 vouge auto and the fuel guage doesnt work.the orange warning light works(its constantly on obviously),but the needle doesnt move.any ideas?
 
Sender unit would be my guess, as my 93 4.2 lse has the same issue hopefully someone can tell us where this is as i cant find any wires leading to my tank at all
