Hi all, coming to the end of my rebuild and with spiraling costs I have been looking at ways to save a bit of cash, so one idea as I'm a fabricater/welder by trade was to have a go at making my own winch bumper. Have done a few searches on here and another forum but didn't find any info that could help, so has anyone done this? and can an offer any help or advice on the does and dont's ? Or any regs that need to be taken into account for mot reasons ?

cheers Ian

It's something I'm intending to do later down the line. I know what design I want. I've got the winch & winch tray already.
Will be interested to see what answers you get and good luck! Be sure to keep us updated.

Will do, got some ideas myself think I want to put fog lights in the bumper, don't want a round tube one. I'm sure I can make it, will proberbly use 5or 6mm steel but wasn't sure on any laws or regs. Don't want to spend all the time making it to be told that I need to remove it later, can't see there being any as lots of places make there own.

cheers Paul that's great thanks a lot will definitely have a go now, I guess the way to go is get a winch and fab it up round it.
