Long-suffering Freelander 2 (57 plate) Owner would be grateful for assistance. The problem is with the door locks on the driver (RHD) side only. When blipped with the keyfob, the doors 'clunk', the alarm is armed and the mirrors fold in. However, the rear door can still be opened from outside (the alarm sounds). The driver's door has also started to do the same but does lock half of the time. With repeated blipping, the driver's door lock will engage properly but the rear door does not.
Currently, I am having to latch the rear door internally, before I exit and then repeatedly blip the keyfob to ensure the driver's door is locked. I can see things going down hill and would like to resolve it before Winter kicks in.
I have tried both keyfobs (the spare is rarely ever used normally) with no difference in effect. The inner door latches can be seen to move in a feeble fashion when the central locking Is engaged.
Has anyone had a similar fault which they have fixed?
Thank you in advance.
