Just a quick question, I bought my 2002 petrol from Freelander from a Network Q dealership and the 12 month warranty is coming to the end, the car is due its 60k service and MOT this week

I cant complain as I have had several items replaced or repaired including the rear window after the cable snapped, and the gear box gaskets to name a few

The question is that Network Q have offered

1 year £457 or 2 year £856 extended warranty and breakdown both payable over 12months interest fee

Does any one have experience of the Network Q or other extended warranties and / problems associated.

I am tempted to by the 2 year warranty as the dreaded head gasket is covered under this

That price is hughly inflated and should not be bouht in my opinion. I work in a main dealer and the prices we get them for would shock you.

We sell a one from AON who are a large warranty company. Search the net for them

Thanks for the reply about warranties., it’s a difficult one as I am not a accomplished mechanic, although I will tinker by referring to the old Haynes manual.

I have had previous quotes for work from the dealer close to work Rossleigh at Newcastle, but I have also found a good agent in Morpeth

its like any insurance policy - it depends what you get for how much - they are always miles too much if (as you hope) you never need them and worth there weight in gold if they cover an expensive repair.
Just bear in mind that most lr stealers now charge £80 an hour! They only need to see it and irs £250 - yu get any thing nasty (VCU, IRD, HGF) AND YOU LOOKING AT A GRAND AT LEAST!
