Ex Mod Defender 1986 No History on ERM Search

Good evening!

I am looking into buying an Ex Mod Defender, but I’m looking for one with some history, I have seen a 1986 90, used to be a soft top but now has panels on, looks like it used to be green but been sprayed beige, now the panels are the exact same colour but they the civilian panels so can’t have been on when serving, the original colour on the v5 is Beige which makes me think it was beige when released, now a friend said they often sprayed them beige on the boats quickly if they were being taken abroad.

This is all interesting but when I lookup the ERM there is no information on the history (68-KF-30)

I’ll attach some pictures, was just wondering if you guys had any idea what it could have been doing or spot anything I haven’t, the owner has emailed the MoD apparently for more info but don’t know how long that could take. Thanks!

The Merlin Archive is a god place to start, but not much past the basics there.

You could write to and pay the RLC Museum to conduct a search on your behalf.

It’s the first one I have seen with no vehicle service history, all the others I have looked up have shown where they have been based etc, so do a lot have no vehicle service history but come back with some if you ask? Thanks for your reply!
