New found love of landrovers is making me stay up late to read this forum when I have to be up soon to tinker with new Discovery ! (Oh, and go shopping for girlfriends Birthday.......)

New disco had first trip out last weekend. Family trip to the forest. Kit, family, food....all in, plus more. Didn't really test it off road wise but confirmed its use as an ultimate family and outdoor life vehicle. Can't wait to get it out and about camping and have some friends who are going to take me out on some lanes.

It's not perfect but certainly in blimmin good order compared to some I've seen. Got a day of spannering planned with a mate at the end of the month and have gained some valuable tips from this site on how to look after it, and how to NOT to bolt on loads of pointless stuff just for the sake of it! Although I do like the look of the black chequer plate kits. :).

Hoping to plan a camping trip to Nene Park in the summer and get it fully waxoyled while we are there. And we are going to book to do the L2B this year. Did it a few years back when I owned a (cough) Freelander. It broke down a mile from the start of Crystal Palace and got taken home by the AA......great!

Shopping for girlfriends birthday...? So set of overalls, rubber gloves and a Haynes manual should keep her happy..., would suggest a socket set and spanners but you don't wanna spoil her ;)

Welcome :)

If only. I'm just grateful that the lovely lady didn't bat an eye lid when I came home in a p reg disco. And then subsequently commented on "what a good idea" it was.

:eek: I had to trade my girlfriend in for my rusty old disco! She wouldn't have any of it!

Don't regret it though ;) despite having spent another 1k on the disco in 4 months, I swear it's cheaper than the ex :D

And more fun :D
