Hi all

1st post here have a 53 plate td4 and the above code is coming on when checked says engine disabled by pats and won't start from the key.

But when towed will start and run all day long but soon as you turn it off no good just turns over but doesn't fire up.

Anyone have a clue if it's the immobiliser needs replacing ?

Dave

EAR WE GO AGIN . . . .werst case fingy!!!!!!jist hit the fuel pump in the front wiff er hammer, that will sort it :D :D :D

had similar on mine (different fault code me thinks) and it was a faulty injector, excess leak back was causing low pressure on number 2 injector, and engine refused to start. give it a dose of quick start (shouldn't but i was desparate) and it went like a train. (couldn't bump it / tow it as its an auto)

if it was the immobiliser, it just wouldn't turn over at all, or run from a tow start otherwise it would be easy to get around the immobilser

can sometimes be the crank position sensor, but that would give a definite fault code

looked up error codes, couldn't even find p1260 in my table, mine only goes up to p0800

have you tried looking on the RAVE CD ?

The code P1260 is : THEFT DETECTED, VEHICLE IMMOBILZED.

look at this link TroubleCodes.net- engine & OBD2 Trouble Codes and Technical info & Tool Store.

Hehe... 1918 error codes... now there's a good reason to buy a pre TD5 Defender instead of a Freeloader if ever I saw one ;)
