Enyone Convercent with fitting an X brake to a series 2a gearbox

Hi guys
I've been fitting my new X brake kit today whilst I still had the gearbox on the bench then later fitted the gearbox back in, anyway I've fitted the new back plate, disc and caliper but still have one small L shaped bracket, one larger L shaped and 3 nuts and bolts one really long, one long and one short, any idea's where these go please

The L shaped plates sound like different sized stops
Could you take pics??

Def sounds like the L's are cable stops, does the documentation say how to fit the cable??

Sorry I was very wrong. Those L shapes and bolts are for the push-rod, not cable stops.

Had a quick look this morning and yeah i get it now, i'd removed the swivel actuator from the chassis yesterday thinking it needed to be removed so i will refit it tomorrow

Forgive my ignorance (or cynicism) but what is the advantage of a Xbrake when the standard transmission brake is only designed for parking ?

The X brake works wether dry,wet or covered in mud and is easier to maintain, even though I've no intentions of off roading this one having a good hand brake is what I fitted it for

Sure are, but those L brackets require additional long bolts etc to fit in correctly. I upgraded last year to an X-Brake, got rid of that transmission drum brake (best upgrade ever). A bit challenging to fit (the pads and those L brackets) as I had to grind one of the pads down a bit to get enough clearance to prevent touching the disc when the brake was not activated.

Yeah mine just skims the disc but rotates free and when the hand brake is on it only takes two clicks to apply.
