How this think can happen?
I was driving the car this afternoon, and I saw the temperature gauge to rise up to the red zone, immediately I drive into a parking lot to stop the engine and few seconds before to turn the key off. I heard a strange sound and I lot of vapor come out under the hood, I turn off the engine. When I get out of the car I saw a lot of water under. I wait few hours to get the engine cold.
And I saw all this. The thermostat look like a dog bit it.
How I remove the old housing? Any recommendations.

Regards

Really! I am ****ed already? after I review the engine from aoutside this morning, look like a easy job. Just get new thermostat housing, remove the old install the new one add cooling water and done!
can be true?

Regards

the thermostat & housing is a sealed unit. Replace the lot. It is held in place with an O-ring and one bolt. It is a **** design and prone to cracking/breaking/leaking.

Hello! I just change the housing with thermostat, for the first few days everything look ok, but suddenly the temperature gage start to get to the red zone. I check the cooling level, fans and apparently all are ok. I just notice that the temperature get hot when I am going hills up, when I push the gas pedal. Any ideas?
