Hi all,

Got my P38 back from service and after a few days it has started shaking a lot. It starts up nice when cold and engine purrs like a kitten, and after 10secs there is a shaking/hitting from the engine and it sounds very uneven/chugging. When I look at the bonnet I can see a vibration in time with the hitting from LHS (LHD car). It feels nice when driving around it is just when idle I can feel this.

Any ideas of what this could be? Any advice appreciated.

A bit of background:
Took my P38 to the mechanic in a city 1200km away after lots of problems (see my other posts) which were mainly to do with loss of power and shaking when running on petrol and to some degree on LPG. Just not smooth and horrible to drive.

The mechanic replaced spark plugs, leads, camshaft, cam chain, radiator, catalyst, coil packs, and did oil and filter change (perhaps other things I can't remember!). Power back to normal, and driving like a dream on both petrol and LPG. Drove back home (1200 km in one day) and checked the oil. It had lost approximately 2.5 litres of oil. No leaks spotted, nor black/blue smoke. Driven around the past week with no further oil loss.

New cam but not tappets:confused: Car serviced by replacing a lot of maybe unnecessary parts rather than finding the problem.
Driving long distance with that without checking oil level first, you're every mechanics dream:cool:
You could always nip around asking the guy there emptied your pockets,
