They are very tough engines. I think I would pull the plugs and squirt
some oil in the cylinders then hand turn it over at first.
The battery likely needs a charge and the terminals will almost for sure
need a clean.
It wouldn't hurt to crank it over with the coil wire off so the oil gets
well circulated just before starting it too.
Fresh gas might be in order if only to thin out the old stuff with a
small bottle of gas line antifreeze added to absorb any water
condensation in there. Expect to change the gas filter on the back
frame rail by the tank due to condensation corrosion inside the tank a
couple weeks after you get it running. Easy and not an expensive part
An oil change and grease job sure wouldn't hurt, but the rest of the
fluids are sealed so they shouldn't have deteriorated by sitting.
The brakes are going to likely make some noise and either slip or grab
at first due to rust on the rotors and drums. This is no biggie, the
old pads and shoes will clean things up pretty fast and a change of them
'might' be in order soon down the road.
You can check the spark wires with a spray mist of water in the dark.
Once you have it running, you just spray mist the wires in the dark. If
any are worn out, you will get a light show. They shouldn't have been
affected much by sitting, but...
