engine number on new project. help!

My engine number reads 25299194j From this it tells me its a Series IIA petrol 2286cc with the lower compression ratio. But mines a 2.25 diesel.

any input on why this doesnt match up would be greatly appreciated.

blocks can be rebuilt as either petrol or diesel ,or someone has re-stamped a number for whatever reason
