My series 3's engine is having an identity crisis(or I've just gone completely thick) For the year(1973) should it be a 3 bearing in duck egg blue with a lucas distributor? Mine has a Deucellier Distributor and a red oxide coloured block (but the oil filler is a pipe, not in the rocker cover). What i believe to be the engine number(stamped on the head) is RMC24844B

P.S it is a 2.25 petrol in a swb series 3

engine number isnt stamped on head ,many dont have original parts now, as they all arent available,eng no is stamped on lhs top front of block ,3brg have smooth fluting just above sump 5 brg have cross hatch

hang on a minute this sounds like my old series 3

that had a red oxide 3 brg petrol 2.25 with the filler on the side a solex carb and a deucellier type dizzy

pm sent :rolleyes::rolleyes:
