Engine fault

Hi all,I am new to this site just wondering if anyone knows what is causing my problem, basically was very tappetty, so took it to the garage they changed an injector and changed the timing belt and now they are telling me the engine keeps locking up when they are turning it by hand, they are saying it turns freely then stops as though its hitting the valves any suggestions please.

But without a crystal ball we have no idea what engine you are talking about.

If it ran (albeit noisy) before you took it in and now cannot be turned over by hand, then they seem to have messed up something.

Yes got a 3.0sdtv6 engine, it had a very bad tappety noise was diagnosed as a injector so changed it and did timing at time using correct pin tools, then changed belt and found only turns about 90° then locks up, I am just wondering if the tappety noise was internal now and not the injector, any thoughts?,

Hi sorry got a 3.0v6 diesel 2016 reg, yes it ran but if you revved the noise got which to me sounded tappety but they said it was injector, I asked them to do the belt at Same time as it was coming up to done, and now won't turn more than 90° , something a mis and don't understand!

Obvious answer is they have mistimed it

I have took the vehicle back as it is and took both covers off the top and found both chain tentioners shot, which would explain what is happening as the inlet shaft is attached via a chain to the exhaust shaft and if the tensioner is not working properly it would put the timing out on the top so I need to find out what other damage it's done, because if the chain has slipped and put exhaust out of timing that would explain the issue I am having, will let you know. Gonna need oil pump and possibly a set of hydraulic tappets and lifters, 2 x chains and tentioners +!?

A garage that gives your vehicle back worse than it was before… and you accepted it?

They would have turned it over on the starter and because they have messed up, it's locked up and they thought 'oh Sh1t'.
I wouldn't have accepted it back.
