Morning all,
After using the car (1999 4.6HSE) extensively in the snow-I put it in the garage for the last week. Put my c-tek battery conditioner on to keep it topped up. Went out thgis morning and first thing I noticed when I opened up (the door was not locked) was that not all the interior lights came on. Tried to start it and "engine disabled" came up. Tried entering EKA code but all that happens is that "engine disabled " still comes up along with "press remote".
No alarm lights on and both remotes do nothing.
Any ideas would be more than welcome.

Steve

Tread a lot of snow into the car? Carpet wet in drivers foot well? if dry, check the battery voltage. Maybe the neighbour has just bought a wireless door bell or electricity monitor which is swamping the FOB signals if you don't have the latest RF receiver. FOB batteries OK? Tried a FOB Re-sync?

Thanks Keith-will give it a go.
Reading all threads on EKA codes-are the indicators supposed to flash everytime I enter a code?

From reading various threads, some do some don't, the side light indicator in the dash flashes on some. You should get some indication of the EKA code being recognised.

Thanks,

Starting to get somewhere now!
Tried numerous time to enter code with no response.

Oiled the lock and fiddled about tried again and got EKA lockout on message center. This may have been due to me fiddling with the key in the lock.
Will wait a30 mins and try again.

Just one point
-should I be starting bthe procedure with the door al;ready locked or open?

Gentleman indeed. Some say he always removes his cap before hitting a woman and moves the pots to one side before peeing in the sink. :D:D:D

Hi steve, you might have a neighbour with a home weather station on their roof they operate on 433 mhz, same frequency as a p38 immobiliser. I've had my car immobilised 3 times recently on my drive and my neighbour has a weather station on his roof. Solved it by having immobiliser facility disabled from the the ECU so hopefully no more problems.

Can you remove / disable the immobilizer with nanocom or do you have to send it to rick the pick i think is his name and also dose this stop the lockouts and engine disable .

Sorry if this is a dumb question but i don't know , ha ha

why ????????? would you want to remove the immobiliser.. ??????????????:):):):) :crazy_driver:mozz

Hi mozz, a few years back when i had a p38 DT i had problems with the fault code " engine disabled " as well as a lock out and was told that if the immobiliser was disabled then i would be able to get going once i had put the eka code in . Not sure if this would have worked or be the right thing to do as it never happened again after that one time.

You can change the immobiliser settings, but much better to get the latest RF receiver which should call a halt to all the problems.
