I know this is a common fault and regularly gets posted on here but I am at a loss to pin down what the source of the problem is. The keyfob has fresh batteries installed, the RF receiver was disconnected in October to cure the battery drain issues I was having. It is either an un-synced key, ignition barrel issues, door lock or BeCM. I am loathe to start removing the BeCM if it is only a door latch problem. Is there anyone in the Blackpool area can help pin down the cause, I will happily pay for someones time.

Hello, that was a quick reply. 2.5Dse manual on a T plate with the M51 BMW engine. I disconnected the ?blue? wire that reduces the range of the key-fob to about 2 feet from the vehicle, not had a problem until Friday night. 5.30 home from work no problems, 6.15 out to buy a few beers and got the engine disabled message. Key fob not working the central locking. Thanks for responding so quickly.

Key should sync with system if you put it in ignition turn to position one and pressing fob, but aerial disconnected maybe stopping that happening. Mozzy Smith is the man you want send him a PM.

mine done the same a few weeks ago, i disconnected the RF receiver and took it inside over night while i looked on the net for a new one when i reconnected it in the morning and tried it again i was able to re sync my keys and all has been fine since.

I think something interfered with it so I do plan to get the latest version of RF receiver to help stop this.
