Hi all, My Disco td5 keeps either cuttting out or running badly (as if not all cylinders firing) It only seems to do it from startup and if i turn off the ignition and back on it has so far cleared. I tow a caravan and luckily it has not happened yet whilst doing so. I have taken it to a main dealer but the fault did not re-occur and they have changed the fuel filter and scratched their heads. Please can someone help
Bob....

Check injector wiring loom on the ecu under battery cover, remove plug from ecu and check for oil in the connectors. If oils there, try cleaning it but there is a modified loom for this...common fault..

Thankyou, got to the bottom of this today and it was indeed the injector wiring loom, my local village garage has fixed the problem. Unfortunately the Land rover main dealer charged me £140 and said they could not find a fault the day before. So much for experts??

If you paid by card or cheque cancel the payment. they didn't do the job properly so why should you pay them???

It's staggering that the main stealer couldn't diagnose this. I diagnosed it correctly just reading the title of your post and I've only had a Landy for 3 months. That must be the most common issue with the TD5. They must be completely brain dead. And to charge 140 quid for totally wasting your time. Bloody Hell!
