Hi All,
This is probably an easy one for you lot but all the same -
I have a 2002 1.8 petrol freelander, well look after and no head gasket issues!, however the engine cooling fans have suddenly started to come on as soon as the engine is switched on, even if it has stood for a couple of days (so absolutely cold). It is almost as if they have been hard wired on! No other issues at all - car runs fine as ever (cold obviously but fine). Just cant turn the buggers off!!
Help.......

Check the water temp sensor the leads might have come off or the sensor is faulty, easy to find follow the top rad hose down and you will see it to the right of the pipe.

As you refer to 'fans' I guess the vehicle has A/C, in which case a minor connector fault at the A/C pressure switch or indeed a faulty open circuit pressure switch would give similar symptoms. Does the A/C ,if fitted, operate normally?
