Hi all,

First of all sorry that i couldn't find the proper post back in which there is a pic. of the engine breather filter (saves me the job of making a new pic. even though I know some will be mad I didn't:D ), near the air box and which comes off as one piece. What I wanted to ask is the following:

- Is this filter like a kind of cartridge that has to be swapped and is the visible lid just the cover ?

or
- Is this housing a one piece replacement (having the filter included ?)

In either cases, is there a gasket present in the either cartridge replacement kit or in the full replacement kit or is it a re-usable gasket they mounted for this ?

Also, (forgot it at first), what is, roughly, the price of such a replacement pse ??

Sorry and thanks in advance?

Hi willo! Hope your keeping well!
Once you take off the cover,(4or 5 Allen screws) just pull the filter out, the plastic plate on the bottom slides out with it,
The filter comes as a four piece kit, two gaskets,(For the base) one O ring (fits when filter is pulled out) and the new filter, Cost £18 + VAT total £25.00 over here from Landrover only.

hope it helps? will try and find a pic for you later
Bye!

Hi mondo,

Thanks for the reply and I bought such a filter this afternoon, I paid it 37,43 Euro or 25.51 £, looks as this part has got the same price, normally the LR parts are cheaper in the UK than here (at least that's what the guy says where I go for oilchance etc). I guess the black plastic thing (see yellow arrow) is the one that you refer to as "the plastic plate on the bottom ?" has to be put underneath the new filter so that it can be used to extract the filter when needs replaced ? The O ring not visible as it's already mounted in the cover, so I guess everything is complete and looks pretty straight forward to install. (It's 4 Allen screws).

Btw: the part is referred to as: Valve Assembly - Brake Pressure Control.

Hi willo!

Did all those parts in the photo come in the kit you bought???

Hi mondo,

Yes, that was all in the box ? Two gaskets for the cover in the plastic bag, the filter also in a plastic bag, that black plastic thing I suppose has to come underneath new filter to be able to extract it later and the cover which has already the O ring in place as you can see on the top part of it ? Why this question pse ? Am I missing something or is there more in it than you got ??

Yes theres more in yours!

I only got the filter, 2 gaskets and 1 O ring.

the black plastic bit (yellow arrow) that goes on AFTER the filter.
Once you have dismantled yours it will be obvious to you. It will slide out when you remove the filter and then just pushes in with no force once you fit the new filter;)

PS willo when you attempt the job, could you note if there is a (Vaccume)??pipe attached to the top at the opposite end to the filter.
On mine there looks like there should/ could be one, but nothing fitted to it

Thanks

Hi mondo,

Glad you mentioned that as I too noticed that, on one side of the cover there is a hole on top where normally a small vacuumpipe 'could' be connected to go then into the airfilter box (to do an overhead valves greasing as in the past I believe) but in view of the MAF I think this is not such a good idea as the MAF would go bananas all the time because of the wet oily airparticles sticking to it ? On mine there seems to be a kind of a plastic cover that goes over it and which at the same time serves to 'guide' the electrical wirings (I think) for the injectors ?? (That piece that needs to be unscrewed I think in order to gain access to the complete filter cover, to give access to all 4 screws of it I mean ?)

Yes ! got that willo, Thanks!;)

Dont forget to keep a good hold on the Clips that secure the pipe to the top of the Injectors.
They take a long time to get out from the side or the injector if you drop them. like i did:rolleyes: :D
