The fella who did my chassis-off job needs shootin'. Now that the exhaust is fixed with nuts and bolts instead of cable ties(!) I now need to sort out whatever he did to the electrics. So help please:

-Vehicle 110 200tdi.
-Side lights come on no bother but dipped lights don't come on at second push of switch. I have full beam with main stalk, permanent and flash. I had all lights for 5 minutes after 'playing' with fuse/relay panel- just checking they hadn't blown. Must replace 35A fuses though!
-No horn
-No windscreen wash jet
-Tow warning light with hazard switch
-No handbrake warning light on start up
-No reverse light
-No rear fog light
-Indicators temperamental when playing with fuse/relay panel.

Wires coming off PDWA switch on front brake valve flapping around also- do I need this.

Plus more but bloody hell, this better be simple- never changed a car fuse in my life so in at the deep end! Haynes manual great for changing lamps but not for testing circuits/fault finding.

In engine bay, couple of connections waving around also.

First pic connector behind turbo on bulkhead.
Second/Third (same) connector in front of driver on bulkhead.

Any help/pointers appreciated.

I think the 3 pin connector in the pic is for using with curtesy lights. Have you pulled the block connectors apart in the engine side of the bulkhead and sprayed them with wd40?

Will get it out tonite and give it some! The WD40 that is. Thanks.

That other block looks sizeable and like it should be doing something important. Me and wiring diagrams 'aint a great combination. Got me a circuit tester yesterday and while basic principles are OK I wouldn't have any systematic approach. Are you best testing fuses first or load first ie, lamps, gauges etc

What do the relays in the fuse area control?

Finally, the interior light was not refitted during the restoration- wires still up there somewhere. Is this in series with anything ie, will it cause problems not being connected?

I always start at the supply end and work forward. Ensure that you clean all the connectors and fittings as you progress. Renew all the earths. Keep us posted.
