So after the 02 disco 2 auto being off the road for over a year (just never got round to getting a new battery) iv finally put one on amd it fired straight up.......however although running fine on a test up and down the track the immobiliser light is on solid on the dash. Turn engine on and off etc and lock etc with fob still no joy. Will run but light won't go out. Wipers are also stuck on with relay clicking noises. Now I remember why I like my 300tdi more 🤣
If anyone can shed any light I'd love that please......also thinking about an immobiliser delete
Cheers
Mike

First suspect is the interior fusebox next the BCU cos both could have suffered due to moisture or water ingress if the vehicle was not stored in a dry garage.... btw you can't "delete" the immobiliser on a D2, all you can do is to disable the whole alarm with nanocom or similar but not as long as it's already immobilised

That sounds reasonable....I am in the North West and it does rain every day! Will investigate in daylight hours. With regards to the immobiliser it does still run and drive so its confusing. I was also under the impression from what I'd read you could delete the immobiliser, I must have read it wrong but Dixon fabrication advertise a bipas module and some of the ecu remap people advertise immobiliser delete. Are these only for defender then?

That "bypass module" or remappers "immo off" is only for the engine ECU immobiliser and IMO it's a bit stupid ideea cos if the "main" immobilisation managed by the BCU(on D2) or the 10AS ECU(on defender) kicks in as a result of triggered alarm the engine will not crank but even if you can force it to crank the engine will run but the alarm sounder will scream and hazards will keep flashing so not confortably driveable.... also you need a nanocom or similar to make the ECU learn the "fake" security code delivered by that module so once you have nanocom you can disable the alarm/immobiliser without other adds if you see what i mean

as you see the red alarm led while the fob is working and the engine is still starting and running it's a system error for sure

That males sense, thank you! Supprising how miss led I can get from YouTube.
Quick check in the dark with headtorch, yeah water ingress passenger side, where the heater motor and bcu are. No heater operation too. Hmm how far to go with this one???

The only way to rule this out is to replace the BCU which involves complex programming with nanocom or similar or send it HERE in which case a diagnostic tool should not be necessary though the heater misbehaviour makes the interior fusebox more suspect, unless both(BCU and IDM) are ruined by water... never unplug them before you disconnect the battery first
