Hello,
Last week I took my Freelander to the dealership to get the brake light switch replaced due to the recall.

After picking up my car and driving home I discovered that I couldn't lock the car. With the remote or via the switch. I then discovered that I couldn't open the rear door, lower the glass, or activate the rear wiper.

When I put the keys in the ignition and turn the keys to turn on the electrical system I get a warning sound. I would describe it as a BEEP - beep.

The only thing I can think of is they took apart a cable and never reconnected it. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I would take it back to the dealership, but I am 400 miles away right now and won't be back in town for a week. Not being able to open the rear door is really bothering me.

Thanks in advance for any help,

John

Sounds like the CCU is in transport mode. You need to take back to the dealer.

I don't know of any recall with the brake light switch, they have had it on T4 and done something, I do know that with earlier vehicles used on later T4 discs, T4 will try to reconfigure the CCU and it will put it in transport mode, you then have to take it back out. I normally skip this step as it's not really essential and go straight into whatever I want to do.

Fort the brake switch recall was just for them americans ?!

It maybe a daft question but have you checked all the fuses, sometimes you may not think of the obvious (no offence, but I have done it myself.)
