The cable has just snapped on drivers door window
can this be replaced or does it mean a new unit.
I would be grateful for any advice.

I doubt it's your cable that's snapped, it'll be the little [crappy] plastic guide at the end of the window runner.

Mine went in the driver's side rear door a few weeks ago... took the unit out and fixed it with araldite and zip ties. Stronger than new!

I think i took a picture of it, so will try and post it when i get home, if I can find it.

My drivers window cable has snapped 'n all.Last post I read on it said I'd have to change the whole lot, so if anyone knows if its possible to bodge the cable, they'd make an old tightwad very happy....:p

Are you sure it's the cable? Have you had it out to see it? The cables themelves are pretty tough.

Yep Drew, The motor was sort of graunching and grinding, so had the door panel off. Cable's snapped about in the middle, sods law.Just loath to pay 80 od squids for a new regulator when all I needs 5 bob worth of cable. Hardest parts gonna be finding a strong enough cable of the right diameter..

Will a crimp run through the gubbins alright Mad?
Yes if ya use common sense, earthling use the in line type and make sure its not fouled by the moving parts ,that damaged it in the first inst. . . .:)

Minge & Mad, I'll have to have 'nother look at it, but the snap is slap bang in't middle of cable. If that don't work I'll have to get some push bike gear cable suppose:eek:

Mad: don't talk out your posterior, it smells enough in here..:D
