I'm tempted to fit and electric fan to my Series. I've seen various kits but they all look pretty extortionate to me. Anyone homebrewed one. I'm not averse to a bit of electronics/electrics and tinkering.

Any ideas what to look for at the scrappers i.e. something that will bolt to the cowl.

I had fitted and still have a pacet racing fan if you're interested, I was gonna fit it to the disco but its not a major concern. From reading I think I'll only gain 3bhp max from removing the viscous and minimal MPG gains

I used a fan from a vauxhall cavalier 2.0i,took the motor and fan out from the plastic shroud and fitted it in front of the rad using some homemade brackets, wired it up through a relay and just have a switch on the dash to turn it on and off with.

Cheers lads,

Was hoping for something that would bolt straight on but guess I ought to make something!

Not so fussed about the BHP or MPG increase as to the fact that through out the winter with muff done up the engine never seems to get up to temp...also would be nice to pull a relay and not lose half my fingers every time I try and do anything to the engine while its running!

I think it would have to be automagic or I'd forget!
