assuming you wish to stick it on the front wing, yes loads of roomdid one on our old disco, the only trouble you will have is keeping all the road crap off it and if you do offroading you may well get electrics problems with it.

There are a couple of designs of electrical aerial, compact and not so compact but as stated by lyron there's loads of room, what ever u choose get a proper one from a good manufacture (Hella) as an example, it will cost but worth it as it will last.
 
Cheers guys, I was just going to fit a cheap one. Every parts shop used to have them but even Halfords don’t stock them anymore. I had a Google but didn’t find many so I’m just going to get one from eBay.

I will see if I can bag it up for a bit of extra protection
 
My Hella must be a collectors item then :)
They all there on e-bay, a RADIO WORLD at £16.50 to a HIRSCHMANN at £40 plus and a few in between so take your pick, but go for an aerial that has the motor that's fully enclosed and water proofed.
