egr blank

Hi just quick q&a for now, i know theres a thread but its a but long to skim through..
just got the egr blanking kit and was talking to my nephew the the mechanic, he suggests not to fit it without changing the maf (as suggested on the diesel dynamics tuning site) is this necessary or just them trying to sell a maf performance?

no need for new MAF in my book, you are not increasing airflow just cleaning it

definitely no need for a new maf, its got nothing to do with it and it normally enters the air intake system post maf anyway!
