Trying to get the water pump off after it failed. All the bolts are out bar the bottom two long bolts which are stuck solid. I've snapped a spanner, split a hex bit and finally, rounded the ends off.

I bought a set of Irwin bolt grips and they have been of sod all help.

Any advice, given that I don't have a blow torch and don't want to have to take the radiator off.

I used to repair outboard motors, so I know what a pain seized bolts can be. You could try soaking in lots of penetrating oil and hammering on a smaller socket to get a bit of purchase on it. If not, you could cut the heads off the bolts, remove the pump and mounting block, so you can see the studs going into the block, then weld or get someone else to weld a couple of nuts on the studs so you can get a spanner on them. The heat from the welding will help loosen them up. If all that fails, you'll have to cut the studs flush with the block and drill them out and re tap the holes. Seized bolts are a curse!

Finally got the bolts out! In the end I had to use a hammer and chisel to break off the housing around the bolt, then use Irwin bolt grip on the remaining stump. The final bolt looked like it had been bent before it was screwed in originally. That was fun!
