Ecu repair nnn

Well here goes I have an nnn ecu of a customers disco and was looking to have a go at repairing it and fit it to my defender so I can tune it.
from what I remember their is outputs from the ecu does anybody know what fails inside the ecu I have had a visual inspection nothing that I can see look damaged before I get the meter out some info would be appreciated cheers rob

You could try checking the power transistors ! Black with three legs and a metal heat sink part embedded into the top!! Thes can develop a dry joint !!!

those big condensers used to fail too

They are the larger black ones ! Around 10mm square and usualy screwed to a heatsink !!
