For the first time ever i arranged a deal to buy a car without seeing it. Having spoken to the seller numerous times, and, on the basis of it being 'as advertised' when I got there, I flew back from France to visit family and arranged to view it Friday.......

2001 '51' LAND ROVER FREELANDER TD4 GS 2.0 DIESEL on eBay (end time 23-Oct-09 16:39:10 BST)

What a total pile of ****e it was: mould in the car, leaks in the back, engine looked like it had done closer to 200k, knocking on full lock, ran like an old bus, and the service book stamps/signatures looked like some of them had been written on the same day with the same pen. Total crap.

Luckily I found another - from top man, very genuine, excellent bargain.

Hope I make it back to frogland :)

Why didnt you leave feedback? ooops just noticed there wasnt a bidder :(

The only way to buy motors on ebay is to expect the worst, bid accordingly, then if it really is ****e when you go to pick it up, walk away.

Yep, and walk away I did. One of the very few times i've been genuinely disappointed in an individual - a complete con artist. Took me in hook-line-and sinker.

Don't like those ads where they claim to be selling on behalf of some chancer with no internet access. automatically puts you on guard.

It is a total gamble but if the price is right its worth it, I have bought 3 cars from ebay without seeing any of them, 2 were good one was total crap, but its just a chance you take i guess, good to walk away though can be hard sometimes
