Just for info, refurbed mine for the second time because last time I used the crap kit from America. This time a mate in the UK sourced it (I don't know from where) but it looked and felt much better right out of the package. Compressor is now almost silent, hardly vibrates and most interesting, fills the tank from empty in 8 minutes flat. Timed it several times and it came out the same. I think its a good metric, we've been telling each other all over the forum to leave a door open and let it run for anything up to 20 minutes; I would now say if it doesn't fill in 10 or under something ain't right!

Good call - lets compromise at 15 minutes - 10 or under for a new pump 15 for a pump in OKish condition - 20 or more for a knackered example....fair??

I have built a test rig in the garage for testing EAS systems off the car.
It has a p38 air tank on it. I have found that just filling the tank with a newly rebuilt compressor takes about 7 minutes.

Fitted to the car and filling the air bags as well as filling the tank would take longer.

This is why we say leave a door open so it is only filling the tank as the open door freezes all height commands.

On an unloaded vehicle with the doors shut. The EAS from empty, should rise to standard height in around 5 to 6 minutes. This requires around 60 Psi in the system. The compressor will however run longer than this to fill the tank to the nominal 140 Psi.
