Hi,

Does any one know if you can disable the 6 hour timer for the air suspension on a p38 - over night mine drops a little usually because of uneven ground and a not very bright system....

I am about to fix the compressor - awaiting parts from the states £65.00 and 30 mins recons it) - but as it is struggling I would like to switch the thing off, or by pass it completely.

I would have told you if you bought a seal/compressor off me !
Its not that your system isnt very bright - its much more likely that the height sensors are giving poor readings and one or more of your air springs is leaking - which coupled to a worn comp I suppose it doesnt seem to clever.;)

Hi,

Thanks for the reply,

I would have bought the seal - but I had in my mind the kit which includes the piston, cylinder barrell and head seals as well - Sorry, and being an old mechanic myself I do like to recon the stuff myself where I can. I have changes the rear 2 air bags but cannot find a leak in the front 2 but I will be changing them in a month or two to bring it all up to the same sort of age / condition.

The uneven ground bit is that where she stands over night the front O/S Wheel is often on a small hump - I have set it up and watched it engine running and doors shut try to get all 4 wheels the same height it tends to end up dropping the height about 3 Cms, if I then open the door and close it again to set the process going it does it again, once it gets down to about the height of the lower running height it will hold this. If at night I remove the EAS Relay she doesn't drop by more than a few mm all round over 12 to 18 hours yet with the timer in down she goes. I think the less work the compressor needs to do the better.

I really don't like it levelling when all is suposed to be switched off.

Thanks again
