On our 2006 TD5 90, the throttle pedal only required a small push to accelerate and the turbo to kick in.
However, if you floored it, the throttle would then assume a different mode, where it would still perform but you had to push the pedal further down. Plus the boost then seemed more progressive, possibly with less outright power.
Switching off and on the ignition always reset it. It was always like that over the 40,000 miles we did in it.
Now l have a 2005 TD5 110 and it is the same. If you floor the accelerator, say to overtake, it defaults into "mode B" where the pedal requires much more movement before it performs.
Is there any way to stop it doing this? I assume it's to protect the transmission from abuse, but it's a bit of a pain on the motorway having to avoid full throttle.
