Dual Battery Sysytem

Hey all,

question is there any need to have a Dual battery monitor when i have 2 battery installed in my 130.

as i would love to have a monitor, but i'm skint at the moment and is this something i can add later


i have an option for the battery here in Dubai a Optima RED or YELLOW what is your choice.

I think typically a duel battery system would be one normal starting battery, and one deep cycle battery for running all your accessories. That way you can run your accessory battery down if needed, without affecting your ability to start the vehicle afterward.

You don't need a complicated monitor, just a high current relay.

Check out x-eng. They do kits for about 40 quid, or just the relay for about 20 if you already have some battery cables to use. You can get the relays cheaper elsewhere, but i cant remember where i saw them. Auto electric supplies maybe.

One of the optima colours is a starting battery, the other is a deep cycle. Not sure which is which.
