DSE or DTSE

Do you mean DSE or DHSE?

The DSE has the "SE" spec, whereas the DHSE has the "HSE" spec. It's like the difference between an SE and and HSE in the petrol versions.

I don't know too much about the differences between the two, the only one I know is the stereo is different! This website has most of the models listed, it will probably be able to give you the info you need.

Hi Matt, Thanks for the reply.

Unfotunatly that site doesnt mention the DTSE :(

Its definatly a DTSE. I'm thinking its a forigen model?
I dont own a P38, but i'm going to look at this one in a couple of days.
Its got the leather and front fogs. But I've noticed its only got air con and not climate, do all DSE's have climate or was it an optional extra.

I'm going to ask in its got cruise control and controls for the stereo on the steering wheel, am I right in thinking only DSE's had these?

Here is a pic of the rear

Looks to me like someone has stuck the "SE" badge on the end of the standard "DT" model badge as it doesn't quite look in-line.

Land Rover never did a DT-SE as far as I know, the "SE" diesel model is known as the DSE! The DT was the basic diesel model. Hope that makes sense!

My DSE doesn't have stereo controls on the steering wheel, but it does have cruise. Mine is a bit of an oddity as it was owned by Land Rover originally and has several of the features you wouldn't normally get on a DSE. Mine has climate, but not front fogs - I think they only came on the DHSE, or HSE models.

I have an original brochure here somewhere I'll see if I can find what features the DSE has over the DT if I can.

I see what you mean.
What should it say on the V5? Will it say DT or DSE? I ring tomorrow and ask.

I've just checked the brochure, it doesn't have the DT model listed as the brochure is too new, but regarding fog lights - apparently they are not available on the diesel model at all!

Specs changed all the time, so it is difficult to tell exactly what model it is, or what options were added. At the end of the day, if it has the bits you want in it, does it really matter?!

On my V5 under "Model/Type" it states : "RANGEROVER 2.5 DSE"

Yella - I've only ever heard of DT, DSE and DHSE in the P38 diesel range.

Yella

Mine regularly has **** thrown in the back of it! :D There is nothing worse than the mess two kids can make of your vehicle though!

I was thinking of getting a "4x4 Turbo" badge for the back of mine :) - you reckon it would scare off the numpties at the traffic lights?! :D

you need to hit em a bit harder matt, ive got 2 and they pick up everything before they get out of mine, but the **** i was refering to was like half a TON OF SAND(LOOSE)oops, caught the caps lock, and a pack of bricks ;)

The builders merchant refused to put loose sand in the back of it! LOL I kid you not!

but I've had it full of plenty of other building materials in there - I filled it with 30 breeze blocks a few weeks ago when getting them for my Dad - he couldn't believe I put them all in the back!!

What a superb vehicle - doesn't matter how much I cram in there, the suspension always keeps her nice and level! (when it is working! LOL)

Wouldn't surprise me!

You ever tried those "helper" air springs in a disco? They look like a good idea, but not sure how good they are in practice.

It was my intention to buy a disco, and was going to fit them, but my P38 came along at a bargain price, so I had to have it!! at least that is what I told my wife :D the P38 gets thoroughly abused, which sometimes seems a bit of a shame, but I don't intend to sell it until it dies completely so I'm not bothered about resale - when it does die I just hope I have enough money for a new one!

Matt

If thats the colour your looking for its called cobar blue and one has just been posted in the for sale section of this site

That would explain it, the brochure I have is after the manual option was deleted.

Have you any idea if I can fit fog lights into mine? I have had a look where the fog lights go and all the mountings are there and there are a pair of dangly connectors on either side which match up with the ones I've seen on P38 fog lights. Only thing I don't know about is if the wiring is in place for the switch on the dash. I'll be surprised if it is that easy, but you never know!

Matt.
