Just a quick one
Ive just bought off ebay a set of fog lights and a switch for £30
Now i understand they wont just plug in and work
So firstly will i find any wireing behind the dash and under the bumper to conect them to?
Is there anyone near leeds that could turn them on in the becm?
Or am i better getting some relays and wireing them as "aftermarket" totaly seperate from the existing lighting set up?
I know all about the oil cooler issues and im covering that with some ducting from the lower bumper grill and one of those electric "turbo" found on ebay

U'll prolly find the wiring is there to plug em in but they need turning on in the becm with diagnostics.

Land rover do not recommend fitting fog lamps to diesels. The N/S one blocks the air flow to the gearbox oil cooler. If you do any towing you maybe in trouble. You can mod the bumper cover though. Wires should be there. But needs activating in BECM they are switched by that.

Just to be technically pedantic that's only on the auto :p

I know all about the oil cooler and ive got it covered im gona duct air in from the lower grill with the aid of a electric turbo which it basicly a high pressure fan in a intercooler size pipe
What i needed to know is will i find any wireing to connect them? bearing in mind as posted above not avalible on any model of auto diesel? If so is there anyone near leeds that could activate them on becm?
Or should i just wire them up as a seperate cuircit from the becm

I am sure others have fitted them and wiring has been there. But not sure so you will have to check for spare plugs at either side. If you have the plugs rest of wiring should be there. Don't forget the wading breathers that come out either side of rad or you will have some very soggy fog lamps.

Ahh forgot about the breathers i'll to get on to him make sure he sends them
Cheers

The wiring is there on my MY2000 and MY96

+1 everything was there for me too, but you will need to replace the connectors at the lamp end as they WILL be corroded to hell and will not work!

I removed the Rad from it’s stupid location and fitted a Mocal one in the centre extended all the cables for the temp sensors and fan wiring and 30k miles later I’ve not had a single gearbox issue!

as for the Fog lamps - you will need someone to tell the ECU they are fitted as the dash light will come on but the fogs wont ;-)

If you are going this route - make sure the outside temp sensor is as far away from the Rad as poss or else you'll have the wrong temp showing inside

All done :) just need to have Tony work his magic when I'm next over his way and get them turned on

then HID conversion lol let the slaggin off begin haha

I would try fitting a fog lamp first, as you'll find very little room between the lamp and the Rad. Mine has the electric fan so no way would it fit in!

The standard fog lamps are pretty useless anyway so a lot of effort for nothing.

I know what your saying but when stand and look at the front it just looks like its the cheepo bottom of the range couldnt afford the one with fog lights model
its alright saying none of the diesel autos had fog lights fitted but every other #### on the road dont know that
So its more for looks than usfullness!
