Drops of oil on flywheel housing

Hey guys, I'm trying to trace the source of an oil leak on my 300tdi. As you can see from the pic, there always seems to be two small blobs of oil on the bottom of the housing for the flywheel. Changed the rear main seal last year for one from Turners, am fairly confident it isn't that. I'm thinking it could be the T seals?

The rear most injector is pretty oily too, but I can't see how its getting down to the other side of the engine. What do you think? Should I just bite the bullet, get the engine out and replace the seals? I could also do the head gasket and timing belt while I am at it I suppose....

Iirc 300 does not have the T seals?
Oil is a real messy bugger, and can travel a long way from the original source, buy some brake cleaner (a 5 litre pot cheapest stuff on ebay) get a 1 litre pump bottle and give the engine a clean then go from there.
Cant be rear crank seal as drain hole looks clean?

Had a good look in the drain hole and it looks clean and dry. Never seen any drips of oil from there since I changed the rear seal last year. Will purchase some cleaner and go from there!

Does the 300 have the seal between the flywheel housing and block like the 200tdi? That’s where mine was showing when that gasket/seal went on mine. The crank seal was still good as no oil was coming from the wading plug hole.

Probably oil coming from some where above, around the back of the head is common on 300.

Tbf, that looks perfectly standard for a Defender, indeed I would be disappointed if there were no oil to be seen.

I am desperate to replace my rear crank seal!

Yeah, it does seem like a lot of work getting the engine out for such a tiny bit of oil. It's not exactly pouring out like some I've seen on here, I see a couple of drips on the tarmac after a long journey, hardly any after short journeys. Maybe I should count my blessings and leave well enough alone.

This weekend I will be degreasing the area and replacing the copper injector seals.

Engine has done 100k miles, good idea to replace the head gasket?

Persoanlly I would sell the car and buy the 200tdi version, they never leak oil
