Driving/Fog lamps

When my '93 LSE arrived it had broken driving lamps...as in glass and bulbs smashed.

Ive fitted new ones with new H3 bulbs, but they still don't work. The fuse in the fuse box is fine, but when I press the switch to turn them on it doesn't illminate orrange like the other switches on the panel do to indicate they're working.

Any ideas?

On my 89 classic the front driving lights only came on with main beam, some body on here had same thing a while back and found same thing.

so you dont dazzle on coming vehicles as may be when your lights are dipped

That's correct, all four of my classics ('85 to '93) have been wired the same way. The lights are intended as driving lamps not fog.

You're right - selected full beam and pressed the switch on the dash...and one driving light burst into life. Will check the connector on the other one as this felt suspect when I was fitting the new lamps, then hoefully both will work.
