Guys and gal's.
have a td4 sport, looking at the bulk head of the engine on the right there is a rubber hose that has a tapered end pointing towards the ground, it seems to drip water from it, not enormous amounts but enough for me to notice in the driveway, anyone any ideas what this is and why it happens.

I have a feeling i am about to feel stupid somehow.

Its condensation from your Heater Matrix (Your car must have A/C), as they say, ' they all do that sir '.

Dont worry about it.

Zippy

it is an A/C thing. Warm air can hold more moisture than cold air so the moisture in the warm air condenses out as water when it is cooled by the A/C - the water pools at the bottom of the A/C housing then runs out through pipes onto the ground - happens the whole time the A/C is on but continues to run out for a while when the car is stopped until the water runs out. If the pipes block with dirt the water can flow back into the car causing wet carpets and later rust - pipes are easily cleared from underneath with a blast of compressed air.
