Can anyone post the dimensions I would need to make a drift for knocking the old rear spring hanger bushes out?

I could soon turn one up if I had some dimensions to work from.

Thanks for the info.

You will end up bending summat if you try to tap them out. Use a press to get the spring bushes out and burn then hacksaw the outer sleeve on the chassis bushes then drift out with a chisel.

hmmmm - normal method is to burn the rubber (hold breath for 5 minutes while doing it) - this lets the inner sleeve push out real easy - then heat, hammer, drift, swear at, saw, struggle till the outer sleeve is gone

You need something HOT to burn them out to I cocked around with a butane blow torch for ages with no joy then borrowed a yellow MAP one and it did it in no time.

Also I found that two of the bushes did just tap out when I gave it some persuasion by heating up the chassis, a bit more gently.

The new ones went in a bit easier when I gave the tube they sit in some heat (to expand it ) and the chassis bush cooled down in a bucket of water. Would have been better to put it in the freezer but I forgot!

Have to say the one one the O/S front was a real pain in the arse to get out. In the end cutting out was the only real option. Do be careful not to cut the tube it sits in though!
