My car has recently (last couple of days) started doing a double beep when locking the car, the usual flash of lights indicating car is locked doesn't happen and the mirrors don't fold in.

That said, the car is definitely locked, in as much as you can try all the handles and they won't let you in. And if you locked from inside, you can open a door and set off the alarm etc.

From inside the car I can see for each door/bonnet if I open it the dash knows that it's open, and so equally it does know that everything is closed.

Tried some random fixes scattered across forums like disconnecting the battery for a bit and reconnecting, and greasing up the visible bits of the door locks.

I anticipate the fault is basically some microswitch not getting engaged when locking and so the car not knowing that everything is locked, so I guess I probably have to take off the door panels and have a look around, but was hoping someone might have some more convenient suggestions before I do that!

I press lock button on remote once to lock and twice to deadlock, get a single beep when deadlocked and mirrors fold in.
