I have just bought my first land rover, it’s a 1961 series 2, and it has water coming in at the driver’s side door. I been on paddock’s web site looking to get some seals but I am a bit confused as to what seals to get.

They have the following seals

Door top to bottom
Door Rubber on the roll - per metre
Door Rubber - 90 one-piece seal RH or LH
Front bottom seal
Rear bottom seal

Now from what I can figure, from the manual, the front and rear bottom seals attach to the door, the door top to bottom and the door rubber on the roll are the same thing and attach to the frame is this correct? As for the 90 one-piece seal I have not a clue.

Can anyone help and let me know what seals are what and what the best ones to get are.

On another note the gear knob on my series 2 broke in two, paddock’s supply a series 3 gear knob, will this fit the series two?

Regards

Dave

First thing is the rubbers that *addock supply are for S3s so the fit isn’t as good and the metallic strip isn’t inside them, the ONLY place i know who dose them are Land Rover Orphanage,( http://www.landroverorphanage.co.uk/ ) having said all that, you’ll be very lucky to have a dry SI,or SII, that’s the way they built them, so what comes in can go out again, when you ring LRO ask them for a gear knob, there very helpful.

Thanks for the help guys, that pdf from Bearmach is very helpful.
Just a few more questions, if I fit the seals to the door do I need to fit the rubber seal round the frame and where does this one piece seal I see advertised go. Does it go round the frame or the door?

Sorry about this, I am a complete novice when it comes to land rovers; this is my first one and defiantly not the last.
