So I was rather foolish the other day and squeezed through a not quite wide enough gap, and took out the nearside mirror. Fortunately the electrics held it until I could stop, and I have now secured it in place with cable ties... but is properly this fixable? What seems to have gone is whatever mechanism was holding it there and allowing it to swivel. It does still swivel, but has no binding to the support.

Thanks :)

Thanks, but what's broken is the actual connector of the whole mirror (plastic and all) to the rest of the car; the glass is attached and working fine fortunately :)

You have probably snapped the plastic lugs that the bolts screw into here is a picture for you to see

Soooooo totally didn't do this again........ (actually I didn't, but someone's knocked it grrrr)

This time the door mirror mounting is fine, but the mirror unit (as in the full plastic bit) has fallen off its plastic seat. Again the electrics saved it - love them :p
I found a little plastic wheel on the rest, is there a plastic mounting for the mirror to sit on, if so, can it be bought individually?
Got to say the glass is pretty resilient to withstand 2 knocks.. however I'm not thinking much of the mirror's folding ability :p
